On Sunday evening I got a call from Beith, she was coming home two days early, on Monday. Help! No food in the flat, so Monday morning I went to the Co-Op, to get the veg I needed. Because of the New Year, they hadn't had a delivery, so I had to go down to Tesco.
The sky looked ominously dark, and I only had my gillet on. As is usual for me when shopping, my camera was on my wrist. Rushing down to Tesco, I was able to get most of what I needed.
Leaving the shop, I didn't think I'd make it home before the storm broke. I saw St. Cuthbert's Church tower above the rooftops and hurried to get to the point where I took the shot, opposite the Bus Station.
Luckily I got back to the flat just in time, hail the size of golf balls fell for some minutes, followed by heavy rain.

Will,
Sorry I have been a bit tardy in catching up on friends work!! But you have not disappointed. What an absolutely beautiful capture and lucky you for, "popping", out to the shops. The composition is superb and the clarity of the shot absolutely stunning. It, of course, makes me very homesick - you don't get this "typical English feel and composition" in a country barely 100 years old! Popping out to the co-op, believe it or not, would be wonderful to do!!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful shot.
Simon:)

Nearly 5 years now my friend, though are considering coming back to the UK, as we miss the access to the country side. Most of my NZ photos you see are taken from the side of the road, as NZ does not have any system of public footpaths, hence access to land is extremely limited in most areas!!

So NZ doesn't have a Right To Roam, that's a shame, would drive me mad :angered:

Thats correct my friend, none at all. they have national parks which are all well and good, if you live by one, apart from that your a bit buggered!! Hence blighty after 5 years is looking very very attractive. If we had known this one simple fact to be truthful we would never have come. but at least I am getting the hang of photographing mist :)
