I saw this bird earlier, when I went into the Palace, so I was surprised to see it there an hour or so later.
I got over the chain fence & quietly walked towards it keeping low, camera ready. The closer I got I knew it wasn't good, and at arm's length away I took the shot. I then placed my hand on the bird's back, fingers either side of its head & picked it up. The side you can't see had a large gash & its leg was broken. I walked back into the B.P. and round the back to the bins, where I put it out of its misery.
