The last day of "Fartbucks" in Wells. They've closed down & left town :#1:
Thank the Gods they've gone, though I've heard that "Coffee Nerd" (remove the 'd' & add a vowel) is taking over the shop. Well, you can't win 'em all

:icontheyardplayground: Oh darn, I'd love a place where I'd get a buck for every fart. :bucktooth::fart:
Nice one squire. :) I like how the person on the right really buries itself in his/her paper, and the repetition of having two readers works. The other thing is the nice triangle shaped by the front guy's arm, the top of the background newspaper and the top of the picture frames.

:icontheyardplayground: comment: This is a good street capture, and a nice black and white conversion. I like that "Yodel" sign, as the man could well be... Swiss from the way he looks.
Maybe composed a bit more toward the left would be better.

Thanks a lot, Squire. I'm starting to understand B&W conversion these days :D
Sadly it was bin day, and there was a very large bin to the left of the fellow.

It's ridiculously expensive over here, but I guess my country have enough "coffee nerds" to support them...

They have ridiculous prices, good they left. The whole idea is...well, too American.
Do you know how we drink coffee here (in Serbia and Greece)? Well, coffee is strong, short and black, made in tiny brass pots. It is served with small pieces of sweets called "ratluk" (made from rose), and often with mineral water. Some people prefer little glass of schnaps. Those three tastes are exquisite together, and I think you would like it.

I'll be glad to see the back of them, calling themselves "Fair Traders" what a joke, they still haven't paid the Ethiopian Coffee Growers Co-Operative all of the $8,000,000 that the ECGC were awarded when Fartbucks took them to court, and lost, 6/7yrs ago.

I would love to have ten percent of that amount. I do not go there much to costly,I got to local places instead, the two at the corner of Robson and Thurlow are great for street shooters like you.

Thankfully I have two very good contacts, a coffee importer, and in Sumatra a coffee grower,
well his daughter, who spends around 6 months there & then comes back to Somerset. She a
wildlife artist, and we met at her home. Having coffee that blew me away, I asked her where
she got it, and ever since then, when she goes there she sends me a kilo bag of beans.
The first time a package arrived, the postman asked if he could come in for coffee :D

I find all coffee rather gross. It takes too much sugar and cream to make them taste good. So I just stay away from all brands.

The only good thing to come out of Fartbucks was the lid on their coffee tins :D Back in the late '60s, at USAF Alconbury, a few miles up the road from RAY Wyton, I used to score a "Lid" of :weed:
