At the Annual Charity Boules Tournament at the weekend.
Teams from Wells were playing teams from the two French towns Wells is twinned with.
To get the shot, I placed the camera on its side on the grit, judged the angle, prayed & took 3 shots rapid. This is the middle one.

This is dedicated to :iconstamatisgr: who's birthday it is today.

:icontheyardplayground: comment: The timing and alignment between man and ball are great. I don't know how the original frame was. Maybe if there were not disturbing elements I would have enhanced this alignment placing the man right in the centre of the image. Still the square crop works well, the image is complete and it captures a 'decisive' instant.

Thank you, m'deer :rose: I cropped out too much sky from the top. Being a hip-shot, I wasn't able to see what I was shooting. It was on a wing & a prayer.

the ball landed, and pulled it out of the way just in time :phew:

A death-defying angle! :giggle: One of your very best, it has everything! :wow: Fantastic subject, a sense of place and time, a sky that's a joy to look at, crispness and it's square too.

A great pleasure, M'Lord Stamatis
I was concerned that I hadn't got anything good for you, then on
Sunday the Boules Tournament was on. So I set out determined to get
that shot, and when I up-loaded the day's work I knew I had it.
It was now down to the conversion, and I'm chuffed with that.
Thank you for your guidance :ahoy:
