This is Bill Oddie, friend & Wildlife TV Presenter, wearing one of our wildlife applique sweatshirts. The design is of an Ivory-billed Woodpecker. At the time I designed it, it was thought to be Extinct, so the red badge with EXTINCT on it.
Bill wore the shirt to the Annual Dinner of the International Council for Bird Preservation (ICBP). There, he found out that two had been seen on Cuba. He phone me the following morning, to tell me this & that ICBP wanted a shirt ExL, which we made.
We found out later, it had been given to President Castro.

This is a scanned print, photo taken in Bill's house, in 1986

wow wow wow Will !! Good for you my friend. Bill Oddie has always been one of my favourite presenters, especially after they did the Springwatch from Shetland a few years back.

I've known Bill & his family since the mid '80s, when he first asked me to design a sweatshirt
for him that he could wear at the Dinner. That same year, he got us a contract with the BBC TV
series "The FAX Show" A total of 32 individual shirts we made for him to wear on the shows. Two
series of 16 progs. The 1st. series was all birds & the 2nd was of Listed Mammals.

Bless you for the favour, Eileen :iconsnuggleplz:

I'm not a nature buff but I love watching Springwatch and Autumnwatch. The dedication and excitement of the people who are making it is so contageous.
Any Brit blasting the BBC doesn't realize how incredible lucky you are with a network that makes that kind of show possible.
This speaking from a country where the television is run by lobotomized people, who treat anyone with any expertise that's not related to sports or "society" as a harmless idiot. :(

I read Bill was going through a difficult time, but I hope he's doing better now.

I've been involved on the fringes of the BBCNHU, with the sweatshirts. Got to know quite a few good people. The NHU is the best in the world, its R&D dept. has brought on wildlife filming to extraordinary heights. BBC Bristol, where the NHU is based, is a centre of excellence. It sure is :#1:

I understand there's a project on the way.

Many thanks for the favour, Eric :ahoy:
