Ivory-billed Oddie

This is Bill Oddie, friend & Wildlife TV Presenter, wearing one of our wildlife applique sweatshirts. The design is of a Cuban Ivory-billed Woodpecker Campephilus principalis bairdii. At the time I designed it, it was thought to be Extinct, so the red badge with EXTINCT on it.

Bill wore the shirt to the Annual Dinner of the International Council for Bird Preservation (ICBP). There, he found out that two had been seen on Cuba. He phone me the following morning, to tell me this & that ICBP wanted a shirt ExL, which we made.
We found out later, it had been given to President Castro.
