Hip Op.

Journal Entry: Sat Sep 18, 2010, 8:41 AM
And there was me, preparing for my Hip Replacement Op. on Tuesday, getting all psyched up, only to find a letter waiting for me when I came home this afternoon, telling me that it's been put back 36hrs, to 2:30pm on Wednesday 22nd. Sept. I'm so tired of all this messing about, I'll be glad when it's all over.

I'll be spending 3-4 days in the Medical Centre at Shepton Mallet after the op, and then a few days convalescing at West Mendip Hospital in Glastonbury, so I'll be off-line for a week or so.

I'm hoping to take some shots of the op. itself as I'm having a spinal epidural, so I'll be aware enough to take the pics, I hope. If not, the anaesthetist said he would take them for me.

To all of you, my thanks for all the favours you've bestowed on my work  :ahoy:

I'm quite familiar with the spinal epidural. I rather enjoyed mine, or at least I enjoyed the shot of painkillers I got every two minutes. The cumulative effect was almost blissful.
I know my comment is belated, but I hope all went well.

I had a whale of a time at the op. Photos will go up in a journal
when I get them all ready & sort out whether to put them in PJ or
Horror & Macabre, most are rather bloody  They weren't
taken by me as I was trussed up on my right side. The Anaesthetist
used my camera, & took nearly 100shots so I've got a lot to choose from :D

It all went well, Squire. Still on a crutch but getting out & about
OK & shooting again, not the way I'm used to, with my camera on my wrist.

 Very slowly, today, two 5min. walks, & for the next 4 days then it steps
up to 10mins & so on. So I won't be going anywhere fast for quite some time :frustrated:
